Master’s requires a bachelor’s; doctoral requires a master’s, with bachelor-to-doctoral routes in selected departments. Typical duration is 2–3 years for master’s and 3–4 for doctoral; programme conditions may differ.
Graduate Chinese and additional English requirements
General Chinese routes require HSK 5 ≥200 or HSK 6 ≥180 with each subtest ≥60, valid within five years. Most science/engineering and Translation/Interpreting routes also require equivalent English. Humanities Chinese/History/Philosophy master’s require HSK 6 ≥180/subtests ≥60; MTCSOL requires the same HSK 6 scores plus HSKK Advanced ≥60.
Graduate IELTS and TOEFL

English-country birth alone grants no exemption; approved English-country qualifications need English teaching/examination, completion within two years and official evidence.
Graduate Chinese study-based exemptions
Eligible secondary qualifications from China (including Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan) or Chinese schools in Malaysia, Indonesia or Singapore must be taught/examined in Chinese and completed within five years of entry. University exemptions require at least one full-time year taught/assessed in Chinese, completed within two years, with original registrar evidence.

Pakistani applicants may use NTS GAT 70% within two years: General for master’s, Subject for doctoral. Programme exceptions still apply.
Graduate programme language exceptions
Paris Elite Institute French routes need native-French evidence or TCF/TEF/DELF/DALF at B2.
