Master, doctoral and non-degree applications ran from 2025-11-01 to 2026-05-30. Scholarships follow their own administering agencies’ schedules.

For the 2026 intake, SCU lists the master's application period as November 1, 2025 to May 30, 2026. Applicants for other programs apply through the SCU Overseas Students Office online system within the required time; scholarship applicants follow the relevant CSC or Center for Language Education and Cooperation route and also submit SCU-required documents through the SCU Overseas Students Office website.

Master eligibility

Age 18–40 with a bachelor’s degree. Chinese-medium humanities require HSK 5 ≥180; science, engineering, medicine and agriculture require HSK 4 ≥180. English-medium programmes require TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6; native speakers or holders of an English-medium prior degree can submit alternative evidence.

Official annual tuition in RMB: general humanities/economics/management 22,000; science/engineering 25,000; public health/pharmacy/archaeology 26,000; stomatology 40,000; clinical medicine/arts/sports 50,000. MBA is 39,200/year and the Master of Engineering Management is 39,000/year.

Housing

Hongwa accommodation on Wangjiang Campus is RMB 36–52/person/day by room type; Wangjiang West twin rooms are RMB 60/bed/day and single rooms RMB 120/day. Huaxi rates are RMB 24–52/person/day. Jiang’an three-person rooms are RMB 6,000/person/year and four-person rooms RMB 4,500/person/year. Rooms are limited; scholarship housing is arranged by the university.

Scholarship applications

Chinese Government Scholarship applications require both the administering agency’s process and a Sichuan University application. International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarships also use Chinese.cn. Scholarship submission, university admission and funding review are separate processes.

Master and doctoral documents

Degree certificates and full transcripts, passport, language evidence, research plan, two recommendations from associate professors or above, physical examination and criminal-record certificate within 6 months, and financial guarantee. Doctoral applicants provide both bachelor and master academic records.
